About Us
As the founder, owner and epicenter of Type A Media, Tracey Henry brings over a decade of success in public relations planning and proven media campaigns to her well-tended group of clients. In Type A, she implements a hands-on, proactive approach to media relations and planning that serves a clientele in an array of lifestyle industries.
Prior to creating Type A Media in 2006, Tracey helped launch Pearl Public Relations, where she was responsible for conceiving and implementing successful launch campaigns for her growing number of New York restaurant and lifestyle clients. These included Bao 111 and Bao Noodles, famed chef Matthew Kenney and his expanding franchise of Blue/Green vegan eateries and his Heirloom vegetarian restaurant, the bold Aussie outpost The Sunburnt Cow, and the hotspot nightclubs Dorsia and Quo. Tracey also crafted campaigns for Circle Line Downtown – the 50-year old New York institution that has ferried millions of people throughout New York Harbor and its legendary landmarks; the Mercadito duo of authentic Mexican market-inspired restaurants in Manhattan’s East and West Villages; and the huge launch of world-renowned Jivamukti Yoga’s New York City headquarters with a star-studded opening celebration and concert.
Tracey’s success in the process – from conceptualization to final media wrap-up – cultivated her specialty in both traditional press campaigns and inventive strategies with a focus on client attention. From organizing tastings and events to ongoing media campaigns and strategies, Tracey developed media contacts, a strong work ethic, and the non-stop energy that is the foundation of Type A Media today. Her wide-ranging media campaign, event planning and management skills, joined with her past achievements, propelled her to found Type A Media.
As a Queens-born-and-bred New Yorker, it’s no surprise Tracey and Type A Media gravitate towards the fast-paced demands of lifestyle public relations and planning. Tracey was serving as press Secretary to New York City Councilman Ken Fisher when she decided to accept an offer to join Lizzie Grubman Public Relations, where she remained for three years. There, Tracey was immersed in multi-faceted restaurant and nightlife PR with high-profile clients like Moomba, Asia de Cuba, Cafeteria, and Commune.
